I am so honored to be a part of the Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance Advocacy Leaders program. OCRA is one of the world’s largest ovarian cancer organizations, supporting survivors, advocating for patients, and funding life-saving research. As an Advocacy Leader, today I joined hundreds of men and women around the country to share my story and ask for their support for federal ovarian cancer research funding.
Instead of joining these amazing women in Washington DC, we gathered from home, our offices, and even our treatment centers to virtually meet with staffers from four New Jersey congressional offices.
While each of our stories are unique, we share a connection to the same cause: ending ovarian cancer through more research.
How You Can Help
Contact your local representatives through email or on social media (with #TealAction) and ask them to support the following for FY2022:
- $45M for Ovarian Cancer Research Program (OCRP) at DoD (+$10M over FY2021)
- $13M million for Ovarian Cancer Control Initiative (OCCI) at CDC (+$1M over FY2021)
- $15M for Johanna’s Law at CDC (+$5M over FY2021)
- $7.609B for National Cancer Institute (NCI)
