We’re getting Tipsy in Teal to find better treatment options for women with low-grade serous ovarian cancer. The funds we raise when we raise our glasses will go to STAAR Ovarian Cancer Foundation (a 501c3), the first U.S.-based charity dedicated to funding research for a rare type of ovarian cancer that tends to be more popular with younger women.
I created Tipsy in Teal to celebrate my 3rd cancerversary with a bar crawl on September 17, 2022.
$30 gets you into the party and unlocks exclusive drink specials, waived cover fees, and more!
The event is part of the STAAR’s Step Up America Campaign where people around the country will be stepping up all month long for Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month. We will be combining three components: awareness, education, and fundraising.
Did you know?
- Low-grade serous carcinoma (LGSC) is the fourth most common ovarian cancer out of more than 30 types and an estimated 60,000 to 200,000 people are living with the disease worldwide.
- The recurrence rate for LGSC is about 70%.
- As this disease typically doesn’t respond to chemotherapy, the median survival rate for someone diagnosed in stages II-IV is about 10 years.
